Known to live up to over 35 years in captivity.

Madagascar

Diet

Mainly fruit as well as leaves, flowers and occasional animal prey.

Social structure

Lemurs live in pairs or in groups of males and females which rarely exceed 20 members.

Reproduction

Females who are sexually mature at around 1.5 to 2.5 years, gestate for 126-140 days.

Threats

Lemurs suffer from destruction of their remaining habitat. Some species are critically endangered.
